As soon as you have applied for prefill data in the Taxfix app, we submit your declaration of consent to the tax authorities. You will then receive your personal activation code (Freischaltcode) by post within one to two weeks.
In the case of a joint assessment, each partner will receive their own individual activation code in a separate letter from the tax office.
The activation codes are sent centrally. This means that the code is not necessarily sent to you by your responsible tax office, but by another tax office or by an Elster Online central office.

The letter from the authority bears the ELSTER logo and informs about the "authorisation to retrieve data" (“Berechtigung zum Datenabruf”). Taxfix is named as the applicant (Antragsteller). You will find your activation code on the last page of this letter. It consists of 12 letters and numbers and can be used for up to 90 days.
