High costs can arise during a divorce, for example from a divorce lawyer.
Until 2013, all costs that were directly related to the divorce could be deducted as extraordinary burdens. These included legal fees, court costs, expenses for appraisers and experts and travel costs to the lawyer, court and notary.
Since January 1, 2013, however, divorce costs can no longer be deducted from tax. Therefore, they are also not queried in the Taxfix app.
