With each new tax year, Taxfix gives you a free choice:
You can either opt for the Expert Service or simply prepare your tax return yourself with the Taxfix mobile app or in your browser. You can decide from year to year.
Switching between the two methods in a tax return is possible as long as you have not yet submitted the return.

This is how you change to the Expert Service
The status of your tax return is important for changing. Here we explain what you need to know.
Have you already started filing your tax return yourself?
You may have already answered all the questions and are almost finished. However, as long as you have not yet submitted the self-prepared tax return to us, you can still change to the Expert Service. In this case, you have not yet completed the submitting process, i.e. the payment and verification of your identity.
To change to the Expert Service, go back to the overview of tax years and select the relevant tax year. In the categories view, you will find the note "Need a hand from a tax advisor?" in the grey info box at the bottom. Click on "Learn more" and then on "Change service".
âšī¸ Please note: When you change the service, all data that you have already entered for the tax year in question will be deleted.
Simply select the Expert service in the next screen and you're ready to go!
Have you already submitted your self-prepared tax return?
In this case, the change is only possible to a limited extent.
Our support team has to check whether or not your data has already been forwarded to the tax office. Therefore, please ask promptly by email at support@taxfix.de whether it is still possible to cancel the self-prepared tax return you have already submitted. If you receive a cancellation confirmation from us, you can simply add the Expert Service to the relevant tax year.

đ¨ Important: As soon as you confirm your completed tax return and it has been sent to the tax office, it is no longer possible to change the service for affected the tax year!
Have you already started answering the questions for the expert?
Maybe you're even in the process of completing the tasks in your personal tasks list?
As long as you have not yet completed your booking and therefore not submitted your details to the tax advisor, you can quickly remove the Expert Service yourself.
âšī¸ Please note: When switching, all data that has already been entered in the tax year in question will be deleted.
To do so, open the overview of tax years and select the affected tax year.
- In the browser, simply click on âChange serviceâ in the navigation area on the left. As soon as you confirm the change, the option to file your tax return yourself will appear. This will remove the Expert Service.
- In the mobile app, tap the question mark symbol in the top right-hand corner. You can now âChange serviceâ in the next screen.
đĄ Our app is updated regularly. The information symbol may therefore differ. Just look out for the âđŦâ or â?â symbols. Please update your app version too.
The Expert Service has been cancelled and you can now file your taxes yourself!
Have you already submitted your tax return to the expert?
In this case, your booking is completed. Please remember the legal cancellation period of 14 days from the booking date.
Please send your cancellation request by email to our support team in a timely manner within your cancellation period so that they can check your enquiry. You can reach them at support@taxfix.de.
