With Taxfix, you can complete your tax return easily and digitally. The app uses the official ELSTER interface of the tax administration to securely transmit your data to the responsible tax office – completely paperless.

🔧 What is ELSTER?
The Taxfix app uses the official ELSTER interface of the tax administration for the digital submission of your tax return.
ELSTER (Electronic Tax Return) is the official platform of the German tax authorities. Taxfix automatically prepares your data and transmits it encrypted to your responsible tax office.
🔒 Secure and fast submission
The transmission is entirely digital. You don’t need to print, sign, or mail your tax return.
Taxfix is a licensed software provider and is authorized to submit returns without a signature. Your identity is confirmed through an uploaded document, which replaces the signature.
📄 Tracking your tax return
In the Taxfix app, you can check the status of the submission. Simply open the relevant tax year.
- View the transmission log: The transmission log provides details about the submission and the responsible tax office.
- Wrong tax office? If your tax office is incorrect (e.g., after moving), you will see which office is now responsible and get the corresponding contact details.
🚧 Problems with submission?
If your tax office has not received your tax return, there may be various reasons. If you are unsure, contact Taxfix customer support for assistance. This may also result in longer waiting times:
- Technical transmission error: Try submitting again.
- Tax return not submitted: Check in the app whether the submission was completed.
- Identification process not successful: Open the app and follow the instructions for identity verification.
- Wrong tax office: Check the responsibility and contact the correct tax office if necessary.
- Delays with ELSTER: Wait a few hours and check the status again.

ℹ️ Important notes for the Expert Service: Taxfix offers both self-filed tax returns and the option for tax experts to handle your return via the Expert Service.
Please note:
- Delays may occur if the power of attorney for the expert or other required documents are still missing. Learn more about the processing time.
- Processing may take longer if your details still need to be reviewed.
- If there are follow-up questions, you will be notified by email. Processing will be paused until you provide the required information.
