How does the pre-filled tax return work?
To activate the pre-filled tax return, you first request access in the app. After that, you’ll receive an activation code by mail from the tax authorities. You then enter this code in the app to activate the data retrieval.
This gives us permission to automatically import certain tax data stored by the tax office (such as income tax or health insurance contributions) into your return. It saves time and simplifies the process.
How long is the code valid?
After receiving the code, you have 90 days to enter it in the app and activate the pre-filled tax return. Once activated, the access remains valid indefinitely – meaning you don’t have to request a new code every year.
This unlimited validity is defined by the tax authorities. Taxfix has no control over this.
Can I cancel the authorization?
Yes, you can revoke access at any time. To do so, open the account menu in the top right corner of the app and select:
“Prefilled Tax Return” → “Cancel prefill request” → “Yes, cancel prefill”.
⚠️ If you are filing a joint tax return with your partner, you need to cancel the data retrieval for both individuals separately.
What to do if the button is missing?
If the “Cancel prefill request” button is not visible in your app, please check whether you have the latest version of the app installed. After updating, the button should appear.
