How does the Expert Service work?
The Expert Service begins directly in the Taxfix app: You select the desired tax year and choose the option “A Tax Advisor.” Then you answer a few general questions. Based on your input, the app creates your personal tasks – these show you exactly which documents you need to upload so your tax return can be prepared. Here’s a quick overview of the steps:

Answer the general questions – your personal tasks will be created based on your answers.

Upload all required documents completely and clearly legible via the app.

Grant the tax advisor power of attorney to prepare your return.

Provide your SEPA direct debit authorization for later payment.

Complete the identity verification.
Once all data and documents are fully submitted, our partner firm takes over and prepares your tax return.
When the return is finished, you will be notified by email. It will also be available in your app so that you can review it.
⚠️ Important: You must confirm the return in a timely manner so it can be submitted to the tax office by the partner firm.
How long does the preparation take?
Demand is currently high. Processing can take up to 4 weeks.
⚠️ Important: The tax advisor can only begin once all data and documents are complete.
Deadline Extension with Tax Advice
If you hire a tax advisor – such as through our Expert Service – the deadline for submitting your mandatory tax return is automatically extended, with no need to apply.
💡 Extended deadlines with tax advice:

2023 tax return → Deadline: June 2, 2025

2024 tax return → Deadline: April 30, 2026
This extension is legally regulated and applies regardless of whether you have other reasons for an extension. It gives tax advisors more time to support their clients.
⚠️ Important: Even with an extended deadline, you should start preparing early to avoid delays.
When is the tax return submitted?
When your tax return is ready, you will receive:

a notification in the app and
-
an email from the partner firm.
In the app, you’ll see your estimated refund and the full tax return. Please check everything and approve the return so it can be submitted to the tax office.
💬 Have questions? You can contact the partner firm directly via the app – the tax advisor will reply by email.
How much does the Expert Service cost?
The cost depends on your refund:
💸 20% of your refund, with a minimum of €99.99.
💡 You only pay after you approve the return – meaning you’re only charged if you go ahead with submission. The invoice will be sent by email.
What happens without confirmation?
⚠️ You’ll receive a deadline in the app for approving your return. Please confirm it in time.
If you don’t confirm or confirm too late:

the fee will be calculated based on your estimated refund

the return cannot be submitted to the tax office
Who can I contact if I have questions?
If you have questions, we're happy to help. You can also contact your tax advisor directly. The email address of the responsible partner firm is included in the notification email you receive once your tax return is ready.
