Can I use Taxfix as a pensioner?

With the Taxfix app, you can easily include your statutory pension income in your tax return. However, certain other types of pensions, such as private pensions or civil service pensions, are currently not supported.

Which pension types does Taxfix support?

Taxfix supports the following statutory pension income:

• Old-age pensions from the German Pension Insurance (DRV)

• Pensions from the Agricultural Pension Fund

• Benefits from professional pension schemes

• Rürup pensions (basic pensions)

The following statutory pension types are also supported:

• Disability pensions

• Occupational disability pensions

• Survivor’s pensions (e.g. widows, widowers, orphans)

• Child-rearing pensions

🚨 Important: If your pension provider issued you an opening clause (Öffnungsklausel) certificate, you currently cannot use Taxfix for that tax year.

Which pensions are not supported?

The following pension types cannot yet be entered in the Taxfix app:

• Pensions from private pension insurance

• Benefits from pension funds, pension schemes, or supplementary pension institutions (e.g. VBL)

• Riester pensions

• Company pension schemes

• Pensions paid by former employers

• Pension income from foreign sources

We are working on supporting these tax cases in the future. However, we cannot provide a timeline for when this will be possible.

How do I enter my pension income in the app?

Open the "Income" section in the Taxfix app. There you can enter your statutory pension income.

💡 Tip: The easiest way is to use your pension statement (Rentenbezugsmitteilung), which contains all the necessary data for your tax return.
