π Your Guide
Which Years Can I File with Taxfix?
You can file tax returns for the last four years using Taxfix. Currently, the app supports tax years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
π Taxfix only allows submission for the last four tax years.
After this period, filing or transmitting returns through the app is no longer possible.
π‘ Filing Deadline Note:
If you are filing voluntarily (i.e. you are not legally required to), you have a four-year window to submit. For example, in 2025, you can still file for 2021 and potentially claim a refund.
What to Do for Older Tax Years (e.g. 2018β2020)?
If the tax office requires you to submit a return for an older year (e.g. 2018β2020), you cannot use Taxfix.
π In that case, we recommend contacting your tax office directly. Ask them how to submit your return on time β citing Β§ 108 (3) and Β§ 173 (3) of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung).
You can find your tax officeβs contact details in the app or online.
Can I Compare Individual and Joint Returns?
The app supports either an individual return or a joint return. A direct comparison of two individual returns with one joint return in the same year is not possible.
π‘ To compare both options, you would need to create two separate returns and compare the results manually.
How Can I Send Proof of Submission to the Tax Office?
After submitting your tax return, you will receive a submission report (PDF) in the app. If needed, you can send this document to your tax office by email. It confirms successful transmission of your data.
For individual cases, Taxfix is not legally allowed to offer personal tax advice. Please contact your tax office directly for special questions or exceptions.
