Why is an ID required?
Before we can work on your tax return, we are legally required to verify your identity. This protects your data and ensures that only you can access your return.
What to do if you donโt have one?
If you currently donโt have a valid ID, please apply for one as soon as possible at your local authority office (e.g. city hall).
Also let us know by email if your documents are still being processed. We can then pause the identification process for you. Once you receive your ID, let us know โ then you can verify your identity and weโll start your tax return.

How does the verification work?
Verification is quick and easy:
- Take photos of your ID (front and back).
- Record a short selfie video.
- Our partner service checks your information.

What if mobile verification doesnโt work?
If youโre having trouble with verification, first check whether youโve allowed camera access for the Taxfix app โ this is required for identification.
Also make sure youโre using the latest version of the app, and restart it afterwards. If it still doesnโt work, you can email us your ID. That way, we can still verify your identity and move forward with your tax return.
