Why was my identification declined?
The identity check may fail for several reasons:
- Your ID is expired.
- The document is blurry, pixelated, or not fully visible.
- The wrong type of document was uploaded.
- The name or address on your ID doesnβt match the information in the app.
π‘ Please review these points and upload your documents again β either directly in the app or by replying to our email.
What should I do now?
Please send your valid ID documents as soon as possible to: support@taxfix.de.
Only after successful identification can our partner tax firm begin preparing your tax return.

π‘ If your name has changed (e.g. due to marriage), please also send a supporting document such as a marriage certificate by email.

- Your full name must be clearly visible.
- The document must be high-quality and fully shown.

What if my name is different?
If the name on your document doesnβt match the one in the app, we cannot proceed.

Name in app: Max Mustermann
In this case, you have two options:
- You want to update the name in the app? β€ Let us know via email β weβll update it for you.
- The name in the app is correct? β€ Then please send a new ID document showing the correct name.

What if this involves an inheritance?
In special cases β such as the death of a relative β a tax return can only be prepared through the Expert Service if a certificate of inheritance is provided.
π§Ύ This document proves you are legally entitled to receive the tax refund. Without it, we cannot issue any payments due to legal restrictions.
If no certificate can be provided, the process will be canceled. If you have already paid, we will refund the service fee.
